Between 2003 and 2011 Yoav headed the woodworking program at Harvard University's Eliot House. In 2011 Yoav was a Windgate Foundation Artist in Residence/Fellow at Purchase College, New York.

For Yoav Liberman, found objects and discarded wood serve as both the literal and metaphorical "raw material" for his work. Looking at, and looking beyond, the flaws of these objects provides his conceptual inspiration. In re-Form, Yoav transforms these objects through an explorative process, giving them new life. His work emphasizes the increasingly porous border between utility and art, as well as architecture, furniture, and sculpture.

"I see myself as a problem solver, challenged by objects and materials that our society renders obsolete. I look for both beauty and functionally in items that I salvage from the sidewalk or from the scrap woodbin. I attempt to re-form them into a new amalgamation that is both attractive and practical."
"I am inspired by our architectural, woodworking, design, and engineering past when I conceive a new piece. I cherish the moments when I have the insight to distill a few novel creations from the rejects of our material lives."
