About Lenox Zigzag: A walking tour in Harlem
Spring’s arrival signals the reawakening of nature’s floral bounty after a long winter’s nap. It also brings with it the blooming of a new three-part self-guided art tour in the Mount Morris Park Historic District called Zigzag. The name refers to the zigzag pattern of the boutiques, restaurants, and stores. The first installation is along Lenox Avenue (from 116th to 125th Streets) and offers framed limited editions of prints and photos priced under $50. Lenox Zigzag, as part of the Art Wall Project, is a neighborhood collaboration curated by the Casa Frela Gallery. In addition to Lenox Zigzag, there will be similar installations on neighboring Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevards. The project’s access to public transportation makes it convenient for the general public to get to from anywhere in the New York metropolitan area. Plus, merchant participation indicates their appreciation and support of the artists and the gallery.Take a stroll along Lenox Avenue and have a zigzag day.
